Things To Do On Siesta Key Florida
Things To Do On Siesta Key, Florida are plentiful. Siesta Key is a wonderful find, such a great beach, great weather and wonderful people to meet. The accommodations are wonderful and varied, you can find anything you are looking for from inner coastal rentals to beach side, at most price ranges.
You can walk for miles on the beach, check out the local restaurants and stores and enjoy awesome weather… a must visit. What a great beach! Soft sugar white sand and beautiful sunsets! Love walking here and you will have no problem biking with your beach cruisers! You can find quieter parts of this beach if you walk a bit further away from the main area where the shops and food stations are. Just take in the sea breeze!
There are several water sports rental places, several boat tours and fishing charter businesses, Point of Rocks for shore shelling, scuba & snorkeling, gear rentals, kayaking & canoeing, parasailing & paragliding, dolphin & whale watching, fishing charters & tours, water skiing & jet skiing and much more.
Siesta Key Farmers Market a best kept secret operates every Sunday morning in the Village. A great way to spend a vacation, seeing local artists and local businesses selling their products. It goes from 8am to 1pm and most are closing up at 1:00pm so come early and hangout and listen to the live music!
A super way to spend Sunday morning! Have a tasty breakfast at one of the many restaurant choices in the village. Then visit the Siesta Key Farmers Market before heading to the beach. A number of local artists display their work including renowned local artist Lloyd Dobson with his affordable beach themed Oil paintings, photography by Mike Lee Beck and his Siesta Images, shell art, ceramics, metal art, clothing, batik, candles, jewelry, plus fruits and vegetables and other food items. Health and beauty items as well. Again they have live music every week for your listening enjoyment. Its a great way to get in the local groove!
After walking the beach come into the Siesta Key Village and check out some of the restaurants, bars and boutiques. One of my favorites is The Hub Baja Grill located at the stop sign. Pan-Latin fare & margaritas are the draws at this festive, tropical-themed eatery with live music.
Another favorite is The Cottage. The staff are friendly, you feel like they could be family. They have a couple of nice sitting options, I.e. front porch to watch the people walking by, inside if it’s too hot and the inner courtyard which has some great island music. The food is above average with some Asian and other influences. Great spot to meet folks.
My Favorite Sunday Funday afternoon restaurant pub on the Key for reggae music by Desi Adams and great food is Gilligan Island Bar.
You can find Lloyd Dobson Artist and his paintings every Sunday from 8am to 1pm at the Siesta Key Farmers Market in the Village at 5104 Ocean Blvd. Siesta Key, Florida. Come by and say hello.
