Born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Independence, Missouri. Lloyd studied art in high school and college where he was blessed to win numerous art awards and ribbons. In Missouri he studied under the late artist Andrew Thoman.
In college was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers and went to the west coast to their rookie training camp. In his second year of playing minor league baseball he tore ligaments in his leg and being on crutches resumed his passion for painting. In California Lloyd studied under California artist Bert Carter.
Lloyd’s work is enjoyed in private collections throughout the world with some of 
the more notable collectors being Art Linkletter, Debbie Reynolds, and Debbie Reynold’s mother.
