Things To Do On Siesta Key Florida
Things To Do On Siesta Key, Florida are plentiful. Siesta Key is a wonderful find, such a great beach, great weather and wonderful people to meet. The accommodations are wonderful and varied, you can find anything you are looking for from inner coastal rentals to beach side, at most price ranges.
You can walk for miles on the beach, check out the local restaurants and stores and enjoy awesome weather… a must visit. What a great beach! Soft sugar white sand and beautiful sunsets! Love walking here and you will have no problem biking with your beach cruisers! You can find quieter parts of this beach if you walk a bit further away from the main area where the shops and food stations are. Just take in the sea breeze!
There are several water sports rental places, several boat tours and fishing charter businesses, Point of Rocks for shore shelling, scuba & snorkeling, gear rentals, kayaking & canoeing, parasailing & paragliding, dolphin & whale watching, fishing charters & tours, water skiing & jet skiing and much more.
Siesta Key Farmers Market a best kept secret operates every Sunday morning in the Village. A great way to spend a vacation, seeing local artists and local businesses selling their products. It goes from 8am to 1pm and most are closing up at 1:00pm so come early and hangout and listen to the live music!
A super way to spend Sunday morning! Have a tasty breakfast at one of the many restaurant choices in the village. Then visit the Siesta Key Farmers Market before heading to the beach. A number of local artists display their work including renowned local artist Lloyd Dobson with his affordable beach themed Oil paintings, photography by Mike Lee Beck and his Siesta Images, shell art, ceramics, metal art, clothing, batik, candles, jewelry, plus fruits and vegetables and other food items. Health and beauty items as well. Again they have live music every week for your listening enjoyment. Its a great way to get in the local groove!
After walking the beach come into the Siesta Key Village and check out some of the restaurants, bars and boutiques. One of my favorites is The Hub Baja Grill located at the stop sign. Pan-Latin fare & margaritas are the draws at this festive, tropical-themed eatery with live music.
Another favorite is The Cottage. The staff are friendly, you feel like they could be family. They have a couple of nice sitting options, I.e. front porch to watch the people walking by, inside if it’s too hot and the inner courtyard which has some great island music. The food is above average with some Asian and other influences. Great spot to meet folks.
My Favorite Sunday Funday afternoon restaurant pub on the Key for reggae music by Desi Adams and great food is Gilligan Island Bar.

How To Preserve Your Vacation Memories
How To Preserve Your Vacation Memories? Our homes are natural storytellers. Their adorned walls, marked-up floors, slept-in sheets all paint a vivid picture about the places we’ve been and the kind of people we are. To say that looks aren’t important, in this case, doesn’t fly. Your space truly serves an extension, not of your appearance, but of your experiences.
So, how do we keep our best memories and experiences alive?
Art, of course. Commissions, more specifically.
What’s a commission? A commissioned work of art is a piece created specifically for you based on your specifications and desires, by Lloyd Dobson Artist from Siesta Key – Sarasota, Florida.
How does it work? It starts with you and your ideas – whether they be extremely detailed, or loose guidelines.
Let’s pretend for a minute. (Say your favorite place in the world is Siesta Key, Florida.)
You traveled there when you were 27. You walked the sugar white sand beach for three weeks with your best friend from college. You unlocked the condo door for the first time and were welcomed by an open view of the aqua Gulf waters that could only be outdone by the green coconut palm trees swaying in the tropical breeze peeking through between you and the beach. You flung your suitcases on the floor and cracked the 2 euro bottle of vino you picked up stared out the window until it was gone.
THOSE are the kind of moments commissioned artworks are capable of capturing.
How does the artist know what to do? You will connect with Lloyd Dobson Artist and facilitate the back and forth to make it as seamless as possible. You’ll work with him and relay details, big or small, that you want included in your piece, along with the feeling you want it to convey and specifics you have in mind like size, color and orientation. All of his artwork is on stretched canvas.
Lloyd Dobson Artist will then give you a timeline and update you with his studio sessions before you receive your final piece.
Why are commissions awesome? They simultaneously “bring you back,” and move forward with you for the rest of your long life. Plus, the artistic flairs of your favorite artist make these types of pieces rich with personality and authentic style.
Have your favorite memory in mind?
Well it is simple to recapture. Send an email to lloyddobsonartist@gmail.com for a FREE quote.

One of the most popular themes for decorating a bedroom, den or bathroom is the beach. Because most people associate the surf, sand and sunshine with happy days, it’s a natural as an interior decor motif.
No matter the room though, you should also consider adding beach-themed artwork. The pictures on your wall will be immediately visible to anyone entering the space and will set the tone for the decor.
Beach artwork offers many fun and attractive options. If you’re decorating on a budget, you’ll want to shy away from original artwork in most cases, however Lloyd Dobson Artist paintings are at an affordable price. Authentic original is great, the cost often makes it impractical with some artwork. If you are on that tight budget, you might instead, consider reproductions of his original paintings available as high-quality prints, canvas prints and posters.
The key difference between original art and print reproductions is affordability. The gap between them can be significant in most cases. Whereas the sky is the limit on original art, most prints cost just $20-$40. For that price, you can probably afford more than one!
