COMMISSION FAQ’s
COMMISSION FAQ’s
How does it work?
We’ll have a conversation to explore your idea. Will this be a place you visited? What sizes are you considering? Do you have colors in mind? Is this is gift? Do you have a deadline? The more information I can get, the better. I don’t do people.
What is the price?
The price depends on the subject and the scope of work. Each commission is unique, so once we define the scope and the references I’ll give you a price for your project. It will typically be 10-25% more than a non-commission painting of the same size.
I require a 20% deposit to start and the rest is due upon completion.
How do I get started?
Just email me with your ideas, your phone number, and any photos that you’d like to be the basis of your painting. We’ll talk and then I’ll get back to you with a price
How long will it take?
Commissions usually take a two weeks to three weeks including dry time for shipping and I typically have a waiting list. So please contact me as soon as you can so that I can meet any deadlines you may have.
Will you work with my photo?
I would be happy to. But do keep in mind that some photos work better than others. If you email me your photo, I can suggest the best way to approach your project.
What if I don’t have a photo?
No problem. We could use an image from my reference files or one from a stock photo site.
How can I be sure I’ll love my commission?
My motto for commissions is “No surprises.” I want you to be with me every step of the way so the commission is just what you wanted. I will send you a photo via text or email when I start the painting. Then every session you will receive a photo sharing the sessions as if you are setting in my studio. That way you’ll know what to expect. Once I send you the final finished painting photo I will send you the invoice for payment. Then keep you updated upon the painting being dry enough to ship. (Usually 1 week to 10 days)
What if I want changes?
Before I ship your painting I’ll email you a photo of the completed work. At that point I’m able to make minor changes to the painting if you require, and I’ll send you a photo to verify what I’ve done. After the commission is shipped I can no long make changes.
